Christiane Spangsberg (b. 1989) is a Danish artist born and raised in Vejle, currently living and working in Copenhagen. The practice of Spangsberg is an ongoing artistic investigation of what it means to be human. Through the simplicity of the one-line drawing and with the use of a carefully selected palette of bright colors and a deep indigo blue, that has quickly become her signature color, she explores and expresses the complexity of human nature and human emotions in works on paper and canvas. Drawing is her natural mode of expression, and she has been doing it since childhood. Inspiration can come from almost anywhere, psychology, photography, a feeling, a friend, ancient statues, everyday life. She is driven by a personal need to explore and understand the world she lives in, the people that surrounds her, and her own mind.
